Experiences of Rik Houben during Internship
Part of my undergraduate program Mechatronics Engineering at the Fontys Hogeschool Venlo is an internship within a commercial company. During courses and project work I already came across the field of industrial automating. This intrigued me, so I decided to fulfill my internship in this field. I went looking for companies in the region of Venlo that work in the field of industrial automation. Doing so I learned about van Daal engineering, who invited me for a visit and an interview with Hans van Daal. He was very enthusiastic and he started looking for an assignment. I immediately decided that I wanted to fulfill my internship at van Daal engineering.
A large automation project included the usage of SEW-drives. To acquire more knowledge of these drives van Daal engineering came up with the following assignment:
Develop and test a drive-application in TIA Portal for SEW-drives, including a visualization. The developed drive-application must be usable in practice and therefore it must be in accordance with the van Daal standard. Document the results.
During my internship I learned a lot and gained new experience. I felt at home right from the start, due to the pleasant atmosphere. I daily went to Daal engineering with great pleasure. My assignment has been successfully completed and the drive application can be put to use. I therefore look back very positively on my internship.
Tip: Are you looking for an internship or graduation assignment? You should definitely approach van Daal engineering. They will always find a nice assignment and you will never regret this fun and educational experience.
